Q&A: Are there any real estate agents for apartment rentals in the Twin Cities, Mn?

Question by Heath: Are there any real estate agents for apartment rentals in the Twin Cities, Mn?
I need some help finding a new apartment in the Twin Cities area (not getting the best results from rent.com) and I’m wondering if there are some “real estate” folks who will do the legwork for you.
A friend worked with an agent a few years ago to find a rental, but I no longer have her contact info.

I just moved from outside of the twin cities and as far as I am aware no Real Estate Agents deal with rentals, because who would pay them and how would you base it, and I doubt that you it would even cover the cost of the leg work.

Your best bet from a distance I still believe is the internet

Does owning an apartment unit technically count as “real estate?”?

Question by Red Fox Ace: Does owning an apartment unit technically count as “real estate?”?
If you own a unit in an apartment building, does that technically count as possessing “real estate?”

Or does real estate only refer to houses, farms, and bigger things that exist on plots of land?
The apartment unit is purchased – i.e., owned, just like buying a house.

It is not being rented.

Do you have a deed and title to the unit? Or do you just have a signed lease agreement?

Do you pay rent to a company or are you paying a mortgage?

An apartment tells me that all of the units are for rental only and not for ownership. While if you said condominium, those would be for ownership.

Based on your edits, then yes, you do posess real estate. However, it is not fee simple. You may have a type of condo ownership since you do not own the shared spaces.
