I work fulltime,no school. Do my laundry,rotate with 20yr old sister on kitchen cleaning, take out trash,help clean house. Parents provide meals,food,utilities,shelter, dad does yard work. Im responsible for my entertainment,cell phone,cloths,all phases of auto,medical,personal toiletries. Parents said I must pay $ 400 monthly to help cover utilities bills,groceries. My rules will not change,won’t have any say in how house is ran. LIVING HOME & NO SCHOOL AT 21yr– MUST PAY $ 200 MONTLY + RULES,PERSONAL PRODUCTS. Standing rule since we can remember–Now They’ve added this on & gave me notice that it would increase in 60days,new standing rule for sister at 24.Said divided monthly bills by 4,Mom works parttime–dad fulltime. Im upset, I’d like to move next yr but I only make $ 1200 monthly. Does this sound FAIR?

it is time to pay up or move out and start your own life

My niece and I were playing the Electronic Banking version of Monopoly, and she became upset when a Chance card told her to “advance to Centennial Olympic Park, Atlanta” which I owned, and had 4 houses on. The rent for the property was $ 6.25 million, and she didn’t think she should have to pay, since she was sent there, instead of rolling the dice to get there.

For Community Chest and Chance cards, the rules in the book read, “When you land on one of these spaces, take the top card from the relevant pile. Follow the instructions on the card before returning the card, face-down, to the bottom of the deck… If a card tells you to move to another space, move there in the direction of the arrow…”
The rules do NOT specify that you have to pay rent when sent to the space.

Under the “Paying Rent” category, it reads, “If your roll ends on a site that is owned by another player, you must pay rent unless the site is mortgaged…” I know in other rules the wording is a bit different, so I’m not sure what the answer is! I’ve always assumed that if you land on someones property, no matter if you were sent there or rolled to get there, that you had to pay the rent owed.

Is my assumption incorrect? Advice needed… thanks in advance!

she has to pay…though if you want to play by your own rules she doesnt have too and neither do u
