As yields for orange trees are decreasing due to freezes, and demand for real estate is increasing “rapidly”, the cost of holding on to land for orange cultivation is increasing as compared to giving up the land for real estate development.

Question by Tonr H: I am starting to doubt my stance on religion?
First off, I am an atheist. I have always been an atheist. But something strange happened and it is making me doubt my stance on religion. I used to be a skeptic of all claims of psychic ability. About a year ago while vacationing in Virginia, locals were telling me about this old guy with some kind of “ability”. I was like yea whatever, and as a joke I went to see this guy. So I walk into this room, pictures of jesus all over, and there is this old guy slouched over in a chair. I sit down and he immediately starts. He says “I see law, your studying law but you are not going to go into law” this was true, I was in fact studying law and was getting ready to take my lsat. But eventually, I never went into law which was a big surprise because I was so committed. Then he said ” I see someone in your family signing real estate papers, in Florida” My brother was moving to florida at the time. He then said something that I thought was far fetched. He said “Very shortly, you will end up in florida as well” Turns out months later, My job unexpectedly required me to move to florida. He went on to say “I hear music, you do something with music” I was in fact a DJ on the weekends at the time. “I see someone trying to make peace with you in the future, his name is Fred” well Fred was one of my college buddies and I didn’t understand why he would want to make peace with me, we didn’t have any problems. Months later, he hooked up with my girlfriend and eventually tried to make peace with me. Then he said some things that I found disturbing at the time, because usually they only tell you the “good”. He said that soon, my parents were both going to die unexpectedly and that there deaths will only be months apart. I was insulted. But in all actuality, my mother died of blood poisoning in the hospital and a few months later, my father died of a heart attack. He also told me that my dog would also die unexpectedly and that also happened, during a storm, my mini pin got his neck tangled in the chain. The last thing he told me was to reconsider my beliefs. I did not tell this man anything whatsoever, I never spoke a word to him. All he did was ramble on about my life. He did not charge me a thing. Is there any possibility that this all could have all been coincidence? I don’t think there really is a explanation to this. He claimed that he had a spirit guide. Everything he told me was spot on and precise. It took me so long to ask this question because his prophecies took so long to fulfill themselves. I think this man is since deceased because at the time he was battling lung cancer. I am just confused because I thought all psychics were frauds like sylvia browne and john edward. But I think this man proved to me that there must be more. I have my reasons for doubting god, but this is the only thing making me think that maybe there is a possibility.
Duban, I dont see how this is in anyway considered a hoax. And the reason I think it has to do with God is because he was a very religious man and said he found this information out from his spirit guide.
Hey look, Im just telling you what I encountered.
I dont undersyand what you are saying? how can you reject god and believe in the supernatural? i never said praying for someone makes them live forever, thats just stupid. You are correct by saying these things would have happened regardless of belief or not, but this man predicted them.

If your life is predestined, like this post would suggest, what’s the point in believing or not anyways? The outcome will be whatever it is even if you don’t care, and life would be completely pointless.

Anyways, pretty obvious hoax. Even people who believe they are fortune tellers are a lot more cryptic then that.

Question by ΦBK: Real Estate Deed Question – State of Florida – “Tenants in Common”?
I recently closed on a home in Florida and the deed does not say Jointly, it specifies “Tenants in Common”.

If I passed away, would my share of the home go to my only daughter or my husband?

There is no will.

Unless Florida is a community property or marital property state (which I do not believe it is), it would be divided according to the state statutes. Usually the husband gets 1/2 and the balance goes to the children. If you want your husband to receive it, the two of you should re-deed it to yourselves in joint tenancy. Then record the deed. The other alternative is to prepare a will.
