nice to have options

After a few weeks of looking, this is the weekend that Erica and I will pick our new place. Today we re-visited one of my favorite spots, a 2 bedroom really close to Benders. It’s a long unit, with a lot of charm. It’s spacious, unique, and in an awesome neighborhood. There’s only one catch… the property managers seem to be the most hated in San Francisco! With 35 (out of 39) negative reviews, they are the lowest ranked management companies in the Bay Area. The reviews are terrifying to say the least…. but the property is AWESOME… part of me is thinking "as long as we mail our checks in, we’ll never have to deal with them" while the other part is saying "holy shit, are you seriously considering this place after reading those reviews?!".
To be fair, they aren’t evil, they are just rude… And nobody goes on to Yelp to write positive landlord reviews anyway, right?
But they are rude to the point of being negligent…When I told the secretary that I’d love to be able to contact the agent because I liked the property, THE SECRETARY STARED ARGUING WITH ME! What the fuck, right? It’s a renters market, this place has been listed for weeks, and this nasty secretary is seriously going to argue with me about whether or not I can ask the agent some questions.
It’s like that girl that all your friends told you to stay away from because she was crazy and would totally fuck up your life… but you mess around with her anyways.
Speaking of all this reminds me, I need to write a good Yelp review for my landlady.
